She studies and provides commentary on health care reform in Colorado and the United States. Her areas of speciality include Medicaid, understanding the many ways in which inaccurate pricing distorts health care decisions about tradeoffs, the metrics used to measure outcomes and performance, the importance of competitive systems in setting prices and controlling costs, and comparisons of national health systems.
Her work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals, the Library of Economics and Liberty, and a variety of newspapers and online outlets.
She was a member of Colorado’s Blue Ribbon Commission for Healthcare Reform and a co-author of one of the Commission’s minority reports. Her PhD is in economics.
