Michael D. Stroup is a professor of economics at Stephen F. Austin State University, where he has also served as Associate Dean of the Rusche College of Business. Professor Stroup earned his Ph.D. in economics from Florida State University, his M.A. in economics from University of Washington, and his B.S. in Economics from Montana State University.
He has authored many articles in scholarly journals, such as: Public Choice, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Kyklos, World Development, Journal of Applied Economics, Journal of Economics and Finance, and Applied Financial Economics. His latest research agenda focuses on using international panel data to quantify the beneficial impact that economic freedoms have on individual human well-being and environmental quality.
